If you are looking for a motorcycle on the cheap, consider going to a government auction.
Government auctions are open to the public, and take place all over the country. Different law enforcement agencies at the local, state and federal level end up with surplus inventory as well as seized vehicles, which they sell to the public.
Tracking down exactly when and where these auctions take place can be a little tedious. Sometimes you may have to drive just a bit to get to a nearby auction that’s close, but not close enough to be advertising in your paper.
In addition, you’ll probably want to know what exactly is being auctioned off.
Conveniently enough much of this information is available online at the Gov-Auctions site. Gov-Auctions is a collection of all the government-run auctions. It’s organized by area, or you could search for a specific vehicle (or motorcycle) to see what upcoming auctions have what you are looking for.
